AW: Holds head up

Last night she started holding her head up for longer periods.  We got so excited!  I was snapping pictures away of her trying to hold her head up and playing on her tummy time mat.  I can't believe how fast she's growing!

First nap in the crib

The daycare countdown is on since August starts tomorrow.  I've got until the 16th to get her comfortable with napping in the crib.  I decided to go ahead and start today and we had a successful first nap.  It was only 45 minutes, but I'm starting it off easy.  She also just hung out in there to get used to it before falling asleep.  It's also good for when she visits my parents house, since they would have a crib for her.  Here are pics of my little baby in her big crib.  (It's hard to tell, but she is awake in the first picture).

First hospital visit

Natalia has Tracheomalacia.  We found this out at her 2 week visit, and have been monitoring it.  The noises she makes got worse yesterday.  I ended up bringing her into the pedi office, and they checked her oxygen level and vitals.  When the doctor watched her breathe, she said that her muscles were working a little too hard to make her breathe.  She was also breathing 50 times a minute, an infant should only be doing 30.  This was enough to send her to the hospital.  We drove out to Greenville, and got admitted.  She was very angry when she found out she had to be naked.  =/  Poor thing was so cold!

She needed to be monitored for 24 hours.  When we first got there, she had an elevated temp of 100.5.  Thankfully it never stayed that way, it went back to the normal temp.  After a little while she got her gown and was left alone.  Since it was her first day, they needed to check her vitals every 4 hours.  She was not pleased.

After not having any naps throughout the day, she was able to sleep for a 6 hour stretch.  She was woken up for her vitals, and fell right back asleep.  Our little girl did so good, and we were so proud.  This morning the doctors checked on her and said she was sounding a bit better.  They said we would have to deal with this until she grew out of it.  Thankfully she only has a mild diagnosis, and will not require surgery.  At 11 am we were told we could go home, so we had to wake up Sleeping Beauty.  <3

Church

We took Natalia to church for the first time today.  That also meant a drop off in the nursery.  It was the first time we left her with someone, even if it was only an hour.  My anxiety levels were pretty high when we got there, but she didn't cry- so that helped.  She was well behaved, even when she was in the church.  She's such a good baby!  Everyone loved her.  =)  We grabbed lunch at Moes afterwards, and she did pretty well.  I had to leave early once she started fussing, but she quickly stopped.  She was also awake for a good couple of hours, so she's passed out now.  I have a feeling it'll be a long nap.  =p

Cool things

Natalia has been having a great morning today.  She decided she wanted her paci, and she wanted to hold it in.  It was so cool to see it pop out, and have her hand push it back in.  Before she did tummy time I had her on her play mat, looking up and she played with her rattle.  By play I mean, she started following it when I would shake it.  Her eyes moved, and kept the focus on it.  I am so excited!

1 month old

I can't believe how fast this month has gone by.  She has grown so much and become more interactive with us.  She snores and farts like her daddy, and she has my smile.  She can "inch" around and loves to grab my hair and pull it.  She is so strong for someone so small.  Her "talking" is too cute!  We are in love with this beautiful baby girl.  <3

Good first week

We had a really good first week together.  I think we're bonding really well, and I'm starting to understand her cues.  Matt was home on the 4th, so I had help, which was really nice.  She also behaved wonderfully on Friday.  Whoo hoo!  Natalia got to meet her Uncle Steve last night, unfortunately we didn't get to snap a quick pic.  She'll get to meet her Grandma M this coming week.  =)

Playtime

We had her out on the play mat for the first time yesterday.  She did really well, but wasn't sure what to do.  I'm excited for when she'll actually enjoy using it.

First day solo

Natalia and I had a pretty good first day together.  We had a few meltdowns, but that was to be expected.  I tried out the Moby wrap, and it worked wonders.  I just need to be able to get her in the wrap by myself.  We definitely missed Matt today.  =/

Here is the birth announcement we sent out to family.
