2 week well visit

She is doing great.  She is up 12 ounces and has grown half an inch.  Doc says everything is looking good, and we're doing a great job.  The next check up is at 2 months. 

First walk in the stroller

We went for our first walk today.  She did great and slept the entire time.  Maybe next time, she can keep her eyes open.  We went this evening to try to keep it at a cooler temp, and we walked around the neighborhood.  Plus side for me- no swollen feet!

 

1 week old!

I can't believe it's been a week already.  It has really flown by.  There have been so many firsts, and I know there are so many things she'll be doing soon.  It's so exciting.  =)

 

Sleeping habits

She's on and off with her sleeping habits so far.  While in the hospital, she only slept while being held.  Since being home, she would sleep in her car seat or in someone's arms.  The bassinet, she slept in once during the day, but did not make it at night.  With our sleeping troubles we decided to invest in a rock & play.  Right now, she's testing it out, and is liking it.  *Knock on wood*  Lets hope she wants to sleep in it tonight.  She looks pretty comfy, and is able to stretch out, which she can't do in the car seat.  Wish us luck for tonight!

 

1st doctor's appointment

She had her first visit to the pediatrician today.  Everything went well, she is back up to her birth weight and has not gotten taller.  We shared our concerns about the air bubbles and hopefully her gas will be subsiding.  She had to get her Hepatitis B vac. today.  She was cranky while being examined, but really- what naked baby would be happy about that??  She is currently passed out after the excitement from this afternoon.

Bathtime fun

She had her first bath at home yesterday.  She did not enjoy herself, hopefully when we put her in the tub it'll be better.  She was also awake for a long time yesterday afternoon.  She is so cute when she's looking around and taking things in.

Father's Day

I believe Matt had a great 1st Father's day.  He was blessed with the greatest gift EVER!  I also got him a shirt that says "I make adorable babies," and Natalia has a matching onesie that says "adorable baby."  He loved it!  

We also got her first smile caught on camera yesterday.  Success!

Discharge day!

After a restless night, I ended up holding Natalia and watching TV so Matt could get some sleep.  We then had breakfast and eagerly waited to be discharged.  Her hospital pedi came in and checked her out.  She let us know that everything was great with her, and she was good to go!  We will be taking her to her actual pediatrician tomorrow.  Then we got to wait around on my doctor for my discharge papers.  Around 11 she finally came, and by 12:30 we were on the way home as a new family of three!  

Mom met us at the house a few hours later. She'll be staying with us for a little while to help me get acclimated to things.  We had a good first day of getting things in order.

Our first day as a new family

Day 1 seemed to fly by.  Matt and my first nurse took care of her for the night, and then we were thrown into full caregiver status.  She didn't eat much the first day, and she slept a lot.  We were content, and definitely didn't complain.  Mom & Dad came to visit and they got to hold her a lot.  We had a nice evening, and decided to head to bed early.  Little did we know that she was about to keep us up the entire night.  She loves being held, and that might be a problem.  

 

Lucky #13- Birthday post!

Natalia Grace DeCubellis was born at 8:20 pm on June 13, 2013.  She weighed in at 9 pounds and measured 21 inches long.  She is so beautiful and I can't wait to watch her grow!
